Welcome to Dement Brothers. LET’S BOX.

Our mission is improve the lives of the youth through the sport of boxing. Dement Brothers Boxing uses the “sweet science” to help its members improve their physical health, confidence, and self-worth.

We embrace diversity and hard work: ALL athletes are always welcome here.

We’re a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Bossier City and the region’s citizens can develop their talents and grow with the help of DBBC, which offers teaching, coaching, mentorship, and a secure, friendly atmosphere.

For each workout, you will have a coach on staff sharpening your skills through pad work, agility and footwork drills, and controlled sparring.

These services are made possible by the kind time and monetary donations of the coaches, the community, and local businesses.

ABOUT US

Since the establishment of the Shreveport Sports for Boys Boxing Gym in 1969 by Mayor George Dement and “Irish” McNeel, doors opened and opportunities were created for many people in Shreveport, Bossier City, and the surrounding areas. The Dement family has been competing, teaching, and promoting the sport of boxing for decades in these areas. Our family has a long history of using the sport of boxing to make a difference in the community and the lives of young men and women.

The Dement Brothers Boxing Club is home to an enthusiastic and experienced group of coaches, including Head Coach Jake Dement, his father Tim Dement, a former Olympian, and Bill Smith, a storied local amateur boxer.

Our students — boys and girls — train with our licensed coaches in a USA Boxing-registered facility where they gain the skills to pursue boxing at any level. The training instills commitment, discipline, determination, respect, goal setting, and respect.

We are dedicated to offering a stage for regional, national, and international boxing competitions. Dement Brothers Boxing Club hosts annual boxing events including the George Dement Classic and Big City Dynamite.

Statistics show that kids who take part in organized boxing programs like ours are less likely to fall victim to the effects of drugs, criminality, suicide, and childhood obesity.
