As Founder of Dement Brothers Boxing Club, Jake is relentless in moving the regions boxing community’s footprint back into the national spotlight as it once sent talent to national championships and Olympic competitions.


Third-generation coach Jake Dement keeps boxing Old School. Jake Dement, owner and head coach at the Dement Brothers Old School Boxing Club in Bossier City, is the third-generation heir to a tradition started by his grandfather, former Bossier City Mayor George Dement Jr.

TIM DEMENT

Coach/Mentor/Promotor of Local Boxing

Tim Dement has over 100 wins competing in the amateurs. Tim represented Team USA in the Olympics as a flyweight in Munich, Germany, 1972. Tim had the biggest upset of the games beating Bobby Hunter, the favorite, which was serving 18 years for manslaughter but allowed to fight in the Olympic Trials. The year prior, Tim (16 years old) won the 1971 trials for the Pan American team but was deemed too young to compete.

BILL SMITH

Coach Bill fought over 200 armature fights and has decades of experience. Bill achievements include: 3 time Louisiana Golden Gloves champion, gold and 2 silver medals in Jr Olympics, SAAU champion, LA State Fair National Champion, represented team USA vs Ireland, and 3x East Texas Golden Gloves Champion.
